The Struan Stevenson dinner

The Struan Stevenson dinner
by colintaylor | December 11th, 2009

Blog posts are like buses-you wait for one for ages then two come along at once. Last night we had a very enjoyable dinner with Struan Stevenson MEP in the West End. Struan has been a great friend of the association for many years and we spent a lot of time campaigning on his behalf in the recent European elections. It’s always fresh to hear from him as he provides a valuable insight into the workings of the European Parliament. He spoke of his recently appointed position as President of the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with Iraq and how he plans to travel to the country in the near future. He also conveyed his fears over the potential success and viability of the new EU political appointments, most notably Baroness Ashton.

After the very enjoyable dinner Struan took time to chat to all who attended and answered any questions anyone had. Once a again a big thank you to all who attended and especially to Struan for taking time out of his schedule to come and speak to us. We hope the event will continue to be a permanent fixture in our association’s calendar.
